Weekend Netflix: Orange is the New Black

This weekend I’m reviewing season one of the new Netflix produced dramedy, Orange is the New Black. The series is written by Weed’s creator, Jenji Kohan, but some may not know that the show is also based on the real life experiences of Communications Executive, Piper Kerman. Netflix released the series on July 11th, a mere twenty-four hours before I posted this article, and so far the viewer feedback has been astoundingly positive. With an 8.2 rating on IMDB and a slew of multiple star ratings on the official webpage for the series, I think it’s well on its way to being a breakout hit for the experimental network and another notch on Jenji’s success belt.

TV Review: Skins Fire

After viewing the first two episodes of E4’s SKINS: Fire, I didn’t know what to think. This is the final season of the popular teen drama and the creators decided it was best to go out revisiting characters from generations one and two. I understand the logic behind that, given those duo installments had a lot of loose ends, but Fire, did little to tie some of them up.
